Demi Lovato - Tracks from Unbroken

I've always been a fan of Demi Lovato since Camp Rock, yes, though it's a bit embarassing, i do watch those pointless teenage movies, but only for the music, because disneys, barbies, they always have good songs and musics in their movies. Back to Demi, I really adore her vocal range and power, when people kept talking about Miley Cyrus, i kept wondering how come this girl with an amazing vocal seemed to be so underrated while Miley was a bit overrated.

My favorite songs from her early work before her treatment are Two Worlds Collide and Gift of A Friend. She released her new album Unbroken recently, and finally I'm able to hear to some of the songs, and they're just amazing. The first song i listened was The Love of A Daughter. Very emotional, and she sang it beautifully, she knew which part she needed to emphasize to show the emotion of the song. You can feel her anger, frustration, and sadness. First time listening to it, I was doing fine, but i broke down near the end at the "so young when the pain had begun, now forever afraid of being alone" part. Somehow that phrase hit me hard.

The second song that impressed me was, Fix A Heart. Another meaningful song. I think the other reason why I like Demi, besides her voice, is the fact that I feel like she and I are alike at some point. Therefore I can connect to her emotional songs that expressed her pain and deep feelings. Just like this song. My favorite phrase "you can bandage the damage but you never really can fix a heart"

I actually miss those times when I could easily heard meaningful and inspiring songs on the radio. Nowadays, people tend to create simple music with simple lyric and no meaning. So for me, Demi is like a breath of fresh air.
