Demi Lovato - Tracks from Unbroken

I've always been a fan of Demi Lovato since Camp Rock, yes, though it's a bit embarassing, i do watch those pointless teenage movies, but only for the music, because disneys, barbies, they always have good songs and musics in their movies. Back to Demi, I really adore her vocal range and power, when people kept talking about Miley Cyrus, i kept wondering how come this girl with an amazing vocal seemed to be so underrated while Miley was a bit overrated.

My favorite songs from her early work before her treatment are Two Worlds Collide and Gift of A Friend. She released her new album Unbroken recently, and finally I'm able to hear to some of the songs, and they're just amazing. The first song i listened was The Love of A Daughter. Very emotional, and she sang it beautifully, she knew which part she needed to emphasize to show the emotion of the song. You can feel her anger, frustration, and sadness. First time listening to it, I was doing fine, but i broke down near the end at the "so young when the pain had begun, now forever afraid of being alone" part. Somehow that phrase hit me hard.

The second song that impressed me was, Fix A Heart. Another meaningful song. I think the other reason why I like Demi, besides her voice, is the fact that I feel like she and I are alike at some point. Therefore I can connect to her emotional songs that expressed her pain and deep feelings. Just like this song. My favorite phrase "you can bandage the damage but you never really can fix a heart"

I actually miss those times when I could easily heard meaningful and inspiring songs on the radio. Nowadays, people tend to create simple music with simple lyric and no meaning. So for me, Demi is like a breath of fresh air.

Review : Kimi Ni Todokke [Movie]

Next review is about the movie that brought me back to Japanese drama. There were times when I loved J-dorama, but then K-variety attracted me and made me leave J-dorama fandom. This movie, or especially the main actress in this movie, brought me back to J-dorama.

Kimi ni Todokke is originally a shoujo (is this right?) manga, comic for girls. It’s very famous in Japan. Because of its fame, the Live Action was then made. It starred Haruma Miura and Tabe Mikako. I’ve liked Tabe since Yasuko to Kenji days, but not that much to the point that I’ll watch her in each of her project. It’s this movie that turned me into her avid fan.

Kimi ni Todoke, is actually a very simple story revolves around socially awkward girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She started to change when she met a popular boy Kazehaya. Some people said that this movie was soo boring that even famous Haruma Miura couldn’t save it. Some said this movie was a disappointment compared to the manga and anime. But personally I found this movie so enjoyable and refreshing. I don’t follow the manga nor the anime, so I can’t say whether or not the movie is better than the manga. As a person who’s free from high expectation when watching, I found this movie heartwarming in a simple way. The story might be simple, but it’s told beautifully. There are so many beautiful moments that're filmed beautifully that I kept repeating those scenes over and over again. One of those moments is this :

There are so many romantic movies out there, some of them are overly dramatic (Koizora), some are too childish (Jenny Juno), some are pointless (both Koizora and Jenny Juno), but this movie is different, that’s why I said this movie is refreshing, it’s realistic, contains good morale for teenagers, but still romantic in its own way. Recommended for romanticist like me.

Drama Review : Akai Ito (The Red Thread of Fate)

I abandoned my blog for quite some time because I didn’t know what to write. Since I’m sooo into movies and dramas now, so I decide to write reviews about latest things I’ve watched.

I’ll start from Japanese drama I watched not so long ago, titled Akai Ito, which means the red thread of fate. I watched this drama because the editor of this site recommended this drama. Since the editor also picked Kimi Ni Todokke as a must-watch, I thought that we might have the same taste, so I gave Akai Ito a try. Here’s the link for details of the drama.

As a romanticist, all things about fate always piqued my interest, so does this drama. One day, I even waited till 2 am for my download to be finished because I was really curious and couldn’t wait to watch the next episode. Overall, this drama is good. It involved so many issues in its story, the main theme was of course, love  and fate, but it also told a story about drugs addiction, domestic violence, and divorce. Now that I think about it again, it’s those side issues that made me stick to the drama till the end though there were things in the story that frustrated me.

If I have to pick 1 most annoying character in this drama, it would be A-kun, the hero himself. I found his character very annoying . He’s actually nice and caring person, but he kept everything for himself, decided everything on his own, and did things without explaining to others around him because he didn’t want to bother/worry people. He had good intention, but I found this kinda people were selfish, they did everything on their own because they didn’t want to be a burden and hurt others, but in the end they hurt others around them by remaining silent. So people, silence is not always gold.

Regarding acting, I’m not that good at determining which actors are good and which aren’t. In this drama the only actor I found impressive was Kimura Ryo, he appeared in so many famous dramas, too bad he never really gets the lead role.

My First Post - Prolog

I never thought of creating a blog before. i'm a loner, an introvert who always keep everything inside myself. but lately, everything's mess and the things that are most damaged are my thought and my soul. so i decided to create this place where i can voice my thought out and pour everything that's inside of me. this is my sanctuary where i express everything i cant freely express on my daily life.
